u w u We made it, here we are at the turn of the decade. Where have we been? Where are we going?
It's weird, I don't have the old feeling of sameness I'd typically get around this time of year. Instead I feel very tired, but not in a bad way, and maybe even slightly nervous as I anxiously await the new year.
Let's look back on 2019 and list out some of the highlights:
Discord!
Spent so much time on Discord this year. Made some really great friends and joined some awesome servers, and even ran one myself for a while.
Travel
I went on one large trip this year, a week long retreat to the Cherokee Nation, which was like a 7-8 hour drive from where I live. I dont much like long trips but it was a really cool experience, from the fundraising to the driving to the community service and museums, I'm glad I got to go.
Art
Got pretty far in JBN this year, and made some of my favorite episodes so far. I also started posting it on new platforms, which I should really get back to doing. Rip Smackjeeves tho haha. I did Inktober again this year, finishing off my rat themed sketchbook from last year, and started working on the Hoenn region's Pokemon Families. I believe it was also this year I finally got myself an iMac Desktop Computer, and also decided to switch over from Photoshop to Clip Studio Paint as my primary art program. Get dunked adobe!
Streaming
In addition to my weekly streams, I started helping the Nuzlocke Forums with their official streams, first as a part of the 24-hour fundraiser stream, and afterwards as a cohost commentator. Best of all I got to end the year off playing one of my favorite games of all time: Banjo-Kazooie!
Games
Guys guys guys guys Banjo-Kazooie in Smash tho! And they said it would never happen, ha! I also got to try Hollow Knight finally, been pretty fun thus far, and I played through Undertale Genocide finally. Wasn't worth it, couldn't beat sans. Game Grumps finally playing through Ace Attorney was great fun. On Christmas we got Overcooked 2 and that Taiko drums rhythm game, and we been enjoying that.
Movies
The big movie of the year was obviously and absolutely Detective Pikachu! The anime of the year was Mob Psycho 100 season 2. The Helluva Boss pilot episode is incredibly good and surprisingly enjoyable for me, I've rewatched it several times now, and it never gets old. I also finally watched Isle of Dogs, as well as the Cats movie. And about the latter? I didnt hate it!
RATS!
Okay, and the biggest thing that happened this year, my mom finally let me have pet rats! I spent the past month setting up the cage and getting everything together. I've been approved by a breeder, and am on the wait list now. I'm so excited I cannot wait!
And now here are some things I am looking forward to in the new year:
I'm streaming Pokemon Shield blind on the official Nuzlocke Forums Twitch in January.
The Sonic the Hedgehog Movie is coming out in February.
And I'm getting pet rats!
And that's it!
Thanks for reading! I like writing these up for future me to look back on. As is customary for the season, I will make a resolution to do some exercise this coming new year, nothing intensive, just something short and simple I can do at home.
Thanks everyone again for your support, and until tomorrow, I'll see you next year!
