Miles Teller’s 2025 Super Bowl experience was one for the books!

The Whiplash actor, 37, revealed in an interview with PEOPLE at premiere of his new movie The Gorge on Wednesday, Feb. 12 that he got to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles’ win a step further than the normal fan.

“I was there at the game,” Teller told PEOPLE. “And then, afterwards, I was with a bunch of the players and stuff. It was exciting.”

“They were very hyped. Yeah,” he added.

The Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 at the big game on Feb. 9, preventing the Chiefs from achieving NFL history by becoming the first team to win the Super Bowl three years in a row. The two teams previously matched up in the 2023 Super Bowl — dubbed the “Kelce Bowl” thanks to brothers Jason and Travis Kelce facing off on opposing teams — where the Chiefs pulled out the win.

In an interview with the NFL on Fox after Super Bowl 2025, Teller celebrated the win, noting that the Eagles “team just kept getting stronger as the season went on” culminating in their spectacular win in New Orleans.

“[There was] just no stress,” Teller said of being an Eagles fan this past season.

The Eagles are Teller’s hometown team — as he grew up in Downingtown, Penn. — and he has been very vocal over the years about his love for the team. Ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl, Teller told PEOPLE that he had no doubt in his mind that Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and the rest of the team would beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

"We're going to destroy them," he joked, adding that his wife Keleigh Sperry is also a “diehard Birds fan.” He added, "She's an Eagles fan baby."

"She might be a Southern California girl, but you marry into Philadelphia sports and that is it," he teased.

At last year's Super Bowl, Teller and Sperry donned Chiefs-red to support their friends Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift. However, when it came to the decision on whether to cheer on the Chiefs or Eagles this year, the actor said the choice was easy.

"Thankfully, when I was at the Chiefs last Super Bowl, they weren't playing the Eagles, so I'm going to be in a sea of green. That's where I'll be,” he said.

The Gorge, which stars Teller and Anya-Taylor Joy, follows two highly-trained operatives appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and mysterious gorge, protecting the world from an undisclosed threat. The movie premieres globally on Apple TV+ February 14.
