#Champs2025: Hydel’s Aaliyah Mullings bats for gold in girls’ 400m hurdles
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Aaliyah Mullings of Hydel High will hope to upgrade her bronze medal to gold this year after she qualified with the second fastest time for Friday’s final of the girls’ 400m hurdles open at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
Mullings ran 59.83 seconds to win her semi-final heat on Tuesday while Edwin Allen High’s Kellyann Carr won her heat in 59.70 seconds, slower than her best of 57.27 seconds set earlier this year.

Nastassia Fletcher of Edwin Allen was third best in qualifying with 1:01.37 followed by Daynea Colstock of Green Island who just missed the final last year and was next best in qualifying with 1:00.58. Vere Technical’s Shevaughn Thomas ran 1:01.63.
